Simi Valley, CA- August 27, 2014- VDI Laboratory announced today, the release of two new specialty lab tests for companion animals. The PTH1-84 Calcemia Panel , available for cats and dogs, is used for the diagnostic assessment of hypercalcemia and hypocalcemia. The pCNP Infection Panel, available for dogs, is used in the detection and therapeutic management of critical infections (sepsis).
"VDI strives to bring new diagnostic tools to the aid of veterinarians," states Randy Ringold, President of VDI, "especially as more and more pet owners are electing more holistic, non-invasive ways to diagnose and manage diseases in their pets."
The two new tests expand VDI's test menu which is centered on the differential diagnosis of cancer. Already in wide use are two cancer diagnostic tests, TKcanine cancer panel and TKfeline cancer panel, as well as a screening test for early signs of disease including cancer, INCaSe.
"When a dog or cat arrives to the vet with non-descript signs, signs that look like cancer but may not be, there needs to be options that can assist the vet in making clinical decisions. Our tests give the general practitioner the tools they need to make these decisions quickly, and at relatively low cost," says Ringold.
The new tests are available immediately to all veterinarians in the United States. To see a full list of VDI Laboratory testing services visit their website at www.vdilab.com and visit the Services page.
