Chem 12 and VDI panels incorporating total calcium will require frozen serum.

Dear VDI Customers,
VDI prides itself on providing accurate results in the most cost-effective manner possible. To that end, VDI invented Dry Serum transport to help reduce the high cost of logistics. Every test is carefully validated prior to release on dry, but is ultimately reliant on specific equipment and reagents.

Global supply issues have impacted all businesses and unfortunately, reagents associated with many of the tests in the Chem 12 have been impacted forcing us to secure from another supplier. This in turn requires us to re-validate some of the tests in the Chem 12 panel for Dry Serum Test Kits.  Effective December 5th, any tests/panels incorporating Chem12 or Total Calcium will need to be sent as frozen liquid serum.

As of now, the timeline for revalidation is undetermined.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will work to bring back the full Chem 12 to our proprietary dry technology as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,

Randy Ringold
